Hi I'm Blake

I grew up in Ogden, Utah, where I am lds.

About Me

I am 18 years old, about to leave on a mission to Brazil on March 13. I graduated high school in 2012 and have taken one semester of college. I played basketball, football, tennis, and baseball in high school and still love to play sports out of school. I also love to read, play the guitar and piano.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church, it has been relatively easy to see what the church does for me and for others in their daily lives. Ever since I was a kid, I knew what made me happy and also what did not. When I would sin and not take the gospel seriously in my life, I could feel the joy and peace that come from living the gospel leave me immediately. Whenever I would stray from the path all I could think about was returning to that path. Having read the Book of Mormon, I know that it is true. Because of this, I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, called of God, to restore Jesus Christ's church that was on the earth 2,000 years ago. I know without a doubt that serving in Brazil for the next two years is the only place that I should be for the next two years. I know that repentence is real and that it works. I have felt the power of the atonement in my life many times, to a point where I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I help lead the music in church every Sunday. I do not have a specific calling right now because I am about to leave for two years to share the gospel full-time in Brazil. I shovel the walk and driveway for an older woman in my ward whom I also home teach.
