Hi I'm Kathy

I am an Mother, wife and an artist. I have lived all over the world. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with seven grown children and 24 grandchildren. Presently I am a full time artist. I am a watercolorist. I have written and illustrated a children's book about sunflowers. I also have a card business and I paint commissioned art work. I am an art teacher. I have had the opportunity to teach children and adults to watercolor. I have an Autistic grandson and so I have learned a great deal about Autism. I have had the opportunity to teach several autistic children art. The most wonderful thing about teaching these particular children is to see the joy that comes from their success in art.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ as a youth. As a teenager I was not attending church often. After being married a few years and having two wonderful children I knew I needed religion in my life. My husband and I moved to San Diego and a wonderful Bishop came to visit us. He asked us to read the Book of Mormon. We did . He also asked us to come to church. The first Sunday we walked in to church and sat down, we started to sing the hymns I felt the warmest feeling and I as though I had come home. I have been an active member of this church ever since. My husband and I went to the Los Angeles Temple and were married for time and all eternity and had our children sealed to us for eternity. The gospel of Jesus Chris has brought me nothing but peace and happiness my whole life. Recently we lost our beautiful grandson. I know although he has departed this earth life because of Jesus Christ and his Atonement that we will see our beautiful grandson again. I would invite anyone who really wants to find peace and happiness in this life to look into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know it will bring you happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

I have lived all over the world because of my husbands work. I lived in Scotland and had the opportunity to work with teenage girls there. I have been on the board of directors for the YWCA and the Utah water color society. I have been an officer in PTA in California. I have started Art programs in all of the elementary schools my children attended in California we raised our family in San Diego, Michigan,Scotland, and Utah. I had the opportunity to organize youth conferences in San Diego at a training center with the fire Department there. I helped organize a youth training in San Diego in which we trekked our youth across an enormous piece of land to duplicate experiences that pioneers had. My husband and I have had an opportunity to serve on a inner city mission in Latino churches. We loved working with this group of wonderful people. Although we did not speak Spanish. We recently have been called to serve a full time mission to Guatemala. We are learning Spanish and soon will be in the jungles of Guatemala. I have felt it a privilege to serve our fellowman following the example of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.
