Hi I'm James Warner

I am a Texan for life. I play tennis, and I will be serving my mission in Brazil Rio de Janeiro. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Texas, and it has been my home and will always be my home. I attended school there where I played tennis. I enjoy playing other sports such as basketball and soccer but I never tried joining a more formal team. I played tennis throughout my middle school and high school career. I still play, but it is more of a hobby now. I am attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. It is one of the best places I have ever been. As of now, I think I will major in Exercise Science. This major's requirements line up with the prerequisites for Pharmacy school. I have been called to serve in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro mission, and I will be speaking the Portuguese language. I can't wait to leave to serve the Lord and help hasten His work. I have not received my visa yet and so I am serving in the Idaho Twin Falls mission right now.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God, and that through the power of God, he was able to translate the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Christ is such an important part of our religion. Joseph Smith said that it is the most correct book on earth and that a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than by any other book. I am here to tell you that this quote is true. If I miss reading my scriptures for one day, I feel like there is something missing and I don't feel as close to God. Most importantly, Jesus Christ is our Savior. Nothing touches me more than when I think of what He did for me. That is one of the reasons I am on my mission: to share what He has done for us. Because of Christ, we are able to return to our Heavenly Father after we die. Without Christ, the plan of salvation would not be able to work. Christ is so central to the plan, and I am grateful for His example. That is why I chose to come on a mission so I could follow my Savior's example and His commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going out and serving a mission. Right now, I am in Idaho serving the Lord and finding the people that He has prepared for me. I strive to live the best I can so that I can be worthy of the Holy Ghost at all times. I love being able to share the gospel with the people of Idaho. Serving a mission is such a great opportunity. I have learned so much from the small time I have been out already, and I continue to learn more and more about the gospel so I can teach more effectively and simply. I know the Lord is here with me and helping me share the faith because so many miracles have happened since I got here. I pray that the Lord will continue to put those He has prepared in the way of our path.
