Hi I'm Amber

I'm from San Diego. I love to play the piano. I want to be a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in San Diego with a wonderful family including my parents and my three brothers. Currently I am attending BYU-Idaho and I love it. My college attendance is so important in my life and even though it's really cold up here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else at this time. I play the piano and I danced for 12 years, so I'm a big fan of music. I worked at a tutoring center before coming up to college and graduated in 2012. Right now I'm working on my Elementary Education major so that in the future I can be a teacher and make a difference in the world through my students.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I grew up in the church with both of my parents being members, but I truly found out for myself that this gospel is the restored gospel on the earth today. I have no doubt about it. Being a member of this church has given me all that I have as a person and I know that without it, I would be nowhere. Because of this gospel I have been able to receive so many blessings and discover God's watchful care over me. With the knowledge that I've gained, I have been able to see His hand in my life everyday and know that he really cares for each of his sons and daughters. I know that we are all God's children. Through my trials, I have been able to see that he is really there. He sent his Son to die for us. And we all have the opportunity to live with him again through the atonement of Jesus Christ. My heart is so full when I talk about this gospel because I do know that he lives and that we will all live again. My experiences through life have only increased that knowledge and I could never say otherwise. Because of this gospel, I know how I can become a better person, and I have found true joy with that knowledge.

How I live my faith

Because I'm here at BYU-I, I belong to a single's ward that meets on campus. I absolutely love going to church every Sunday and am able to play the hymns on the piano for the opening and closing songs during the 3rd hour. I am also able to teach two girls with one of my roommates. We meet with them at least once a month to share a little message with them and the rest of the month we make sure to be there whenever they need us, especially as friends. It's always so fun to go to every ward activity that we have and make long lasting friendships. My participation in church is essential to my life as I strive to become a better person each day.
