Hi I'm Joshua

I was born in Alabama. I have three children. I love Jesus. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing and listening to music. I grew up playing football and baseball. I have lived in Alabama, Idaho, Tennessee and Virginia. I have worked as a Software Engineer for the United States Military, State of Alabama, State of Tennessee, Fannie Mae and currently for Hewlett Packard. I love science, especially astronomy. I love playing video games, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and boating. I love traveling and exploring this beautiful world with my family. I have three wonderful children and an incredible wife. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University. I grew up rarely attending church; I went to the Lutheran church with my dad or the Mormon Church with my grandparents.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I thought it was unnecessary to pray about the Bible. I never read it. I also never read The Book of Mormon or prayed about it. When I was 18, I became interested in reading the scriptures and praying daily. That decision transformed my life and filled it with joy. I learned about Jesus and wanted to follow his example by serving and loving God and all people. I wanted to do his will. That experience gave me the faith to progress. I committed to serve as a full time missionary for two years and to share my joy with others for the rest of my life. I prayed to know if the Bible and Book of Mormon were true. I received the answer that they were truly the words of God. Since then, I have seen miracles and I frequently receive spiritual confirmations that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ’s Church on earth. I believe the Bible and Book of Mormon are the writings of God's Holy Prophets. I believe that there is a prophet on earth today that receives guidance directly from Jesus to lead the Church. I believe that families can be bound together forever and not just until death. I believe that the authority held by John the Baptist, who baptized Jesus, and the authority to baptize with the Holy Ghost, as spoken of in the New Testament, is on the earth today. I believe that Jesus overcame sin and death for all mankind. I Love Jesus!

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving others. I love teaching my family. I currently work with the young men of my congregation, I love and support them during this difficult time in their lives. In the past, I have worked with the full time missionaries to help others find Christ, be baptized and follow Jesus's example for the rest of their lives. I have maintained building technology for 13 buildings, I have taught classes and led men my age. In my every day life, I do all I can to follow the example of Jesus and to live as he would have me. I love studying the scriptures and the words of the inspired leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have been very blessed in my life and have a great desire to help others find those blessings that Our Heavenly Father wants to give them.
