Hi I'm Sydney

I'm a student. I paint and draw. I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in college, hopefully on my way to becoming a nurse, which has been my dream for quite some time now. I try to stay active by running and going to Zumba. Both of which make me happy, but I'm also able to escape from the world through painting and drawing. I love art, I love the friends I have, I love traveling, I love cheese pizza, I love soccer, I love trying new things and meeting new people, I love my family more than anything and I love this Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. The happiest. I have tried to find happiness in other ways and it literally just doesn't cut it for me. I have seen friends that I am incredibly close to drift away from the Gospel and drift away from happiness, and it kills me. I have had relationships be ruined because my friends didn't understand me and just wouldn't accept that I was happy because of the Gospel in my life. I am a Mormon because I love my family more than anything and this Gospel gives me the surety that I'll live with them for eternity. And that's simply a necessity for me. I am a Mormon because when I read the Book of Mormon my head can think clearly, knowledge comes flowing in, and I know it is true. I am a Mormon because when I go to church my heart is warm and my spirit is strong. I am a Mormon because I believe Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer, the light of the world, and I can't imagine anyone greater to follow. I am a Mormon because I trust Him; I know He wouldn't lead me astray and I know He loves me uncontrollably. I am a Mormon because He lives.

How I live my faith

I really try and make an effort to live my faith in everything I do. Over the past two years I have been given many different church callings, but my favorite one was being a counselor for special needs mutual during my Junior year of high school. Everyone is given a buddy to help participate in activities that were held once a week and my buddy's name was Claudia. That experience was unforgettable; it helped me realize how blessed I am with my properly functioning body, it opened my eyes to a whole new world and way of living, it gave me eternal friends that I otherwise would never have made, and most of all it humbled me to see that these people I worked with, especially Claudia, were closer to Christ than I could probably ever be.
