Hi I'm Leah

I've lived all over the southern US. I'm a wife, a mother, a competitive cook and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 5 kids. I'm a mother of 3 cute and crazy kiddos and a wife to a wonderful supportive husband. I currently live in Montgomery, AL but I have moved around quite a bit. I have lived in 2 different places in Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina (twice), and many different towns in Alabama. I went to school for massage therapy and practiced that for many years before I decided to be a stay at home mom. Since becoming a stay at home mom I have become quite the cook. I have 11 blue ribbons from an online recipe club and have competed in several cooking competitions and won some. I do a cooking segment on our local news station once a month and really enjoy teaching others how to cook. Besides cooking I enjoy playing soccer, reading, traveling, watching a good movie, being outdoors and just having a fun time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

While my parents were in college they converted to the church. They met each other after their conversions and soon got married. I therefore was born into the church and attended it all throughout my childhood. My senior year of high school I became less active. I made some poor choices. I always had a testimony that the church was true but being a young adult, I thought I knew what was best for me. I completely stopped going to church and years later I became engaged. The moment I got engaged I felt that he wasn't the right person. I knew in my heart that I wanted to have the Priesthood in my home and I wanted to be sealed to my family forever. Even though he was a really great guy, he couldn't offer those things to me. It was one of the hardest decisions in my life but also the best. Soon after, I started attending church again and I met a wonderful man that offered all the things I was looking for. After praying about it, we were married and sealed together in the temple for all eternity. I am very grateful to have the fullness of the gospel in my life. I know that Jesus died on the cross for each and every one of us so we can have the opportunity to repent and live with him again. I know he lives today with our Father in Heaven. I know that this church is true and we have a living prophet on the earth today that leads us and guides us. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God and goes hand in hand with the Holy Bible.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good example to others, especially my children. I am assigned and visit several women in my congregation every month and make sure to be there for them when help is needed. I am also a counselor in our Women's organization called Relief Society. I help out with 13 different congregations in our area. My calling is to help council the leaders over the women in those congregations. I've learned so much doing this calling and have so much respect for the wonderful ladies that I serve.
