Hi I'm Dominica

I'm a college student. I'm a traveler. I'm a bookworm. I'm a pianist of 14 years. I love baking and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Arizona as an only child for 11 years. Lucky for me, my parents adopted two little boys who changed our lives instantly. It gave me the special opportunity to be like a third parent to them. My parents are converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I've been a member all my life. My parents are my solid ground and have always pushed me to do my best in everything I try. Service is something that I'm passionate about. I was privileged to travel to Belize in high school to build a computer building for a local school, as well as Malawi to serve as a missionary. My hobbies change a lot but I like playing tennis and piano, sewing, puzzling, traveling and being with my family and friends. I also love all things vintage and tend to have my nose in a book despite needing to get other things done.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had so many faith-shaking experiences that have shaped the testimony I have of this gospel. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, a lot. I know that I am a daughter of Him and that Christ is my brother. Why else would He lose His life, other than to provide me and us a way to return back to live with Father? I know that the scriptures can provide direction to my life it I earnestly study them. I know that we get divine revelation personally and from the leaders and prophet of this Church. I know that we have a living prophet who guides us with such profound knowledge. I know that God guides him. I know that the temple is where we can be eternally blessed and I know that my family will be together into the eternities because of the covenants my parents made there, which I will likewise do with my future husband. I know that we were brought to this earth for a purpose and we can pray to ask what that purpose is. Heavenly Father will give us answers in His way and time. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's gospel. I know that God's authority, the priesthood, was also restored to this earth and through it we can be blessed. I love this gospel. I know it is true and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The main way to show faith is in our works. I am not perfect but I am unashamed to admit that I am a Latter-day Saint. I love to live by the principles that we are constantly taught because I've recognized the serenity that comes to my life when I strive to live the way God wants me to. I try to set an example for my younger brothers and let them know what I believe so that they can choose for themselves how they want their lives to be. I'm not as consist as I should be but I try to study my scriptures daily. I pray at random times during the day when I feel the need to tell Heavenly Father what's going on, what I'm happy about and what I need His help in. I refuse to miss church even when I'm traveling. I do work at the temple each week. Overall, consistency in the small principles of the gospel establish the foundation of my faith.
