Hi I'm Jason

I was raised in Hoytsville, Utah. I'm a country boy, I hope to be a pilot someday, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My family is first and foremost to me and I love them more than life itself, I am the youngest of seven kids. I have 17 nieces and nephews and love being a kid with them running around outside, climbing trees, starting fires, and being a bucking bronco. After high school, I attended BYU-Idaho and plan to continue my education when I get home from serving a mission in the Scotland/Ireland Mission. I am a super outgoing and energetic and I love life. I feel most at home in the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, hunting, snowboarding, running and underwater basket weaving (just kidding - although I have heard it is exhilarating).

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have always been a Mormon, a time came when I knew I had to pray to know if Joseph Smith was a true prophet and if this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Since I have not had a sudden moral change of ethics and religion like most converts experience, I would say my testimony has been tried in a much different way. All my life I was taught the principles of the gospel and how I should hold the priesthood, serve a mission, stay morally clean, marry a woman in the temple, and eventually have children to love and provide for. This all seemed to be part of my very genetics until I found myself in the peer pressuring and highly confusing time of high school. My testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel never went astray but I did find myself doing things not in perfect line with the principles of the gospel. After much prayer and many priesthood leaders and good friends guiding me, I found my way back to living a life where I feel like I am following Christ. Being a Mormon makes me happy and want to make everyone around me happy as well.

How I live my faith

I was born a Mormon and have grown up doing various service projects and fun activities through the organization of the church. I am so happy to understand that I can have Heavenly Father’s constant help, especially in this time of my life when I have so many important decisions to make. I am currently serving a full time mission in the Scotland/Ireland Mission and I absolutely LOVE it. The people here are one of a kind and needless to say, I fit right in. I love talking to all different kinds of people and I try to be an example to everyone I meet. Being part of this church has shaped who I am today, which is why I am excited to spend the next two years serving a full time mission. I am excited to preach the gospel, learn about a new culture, and devote 100% of my time to serving others.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Jason
"Mormon" is a Nickname given to us by the World. It Correlates with the "Book Of Mormon" and how we are the only church in the world that see's it as the word of God along with the Bible. The true name of our religious faith is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". But since it is a bit of a mouthful, "Mormons" is much shorter term pinned to Latter Day Saints.
