Hi I'm Josh Beckstrom

I was born in Wisconsin but raised in Utah. i am a Lacrosse player! I am currently serving a Full Time Mission! and I AM A MORMON!

About Me

i was born in Wisconsin but moved shortly after to Utah and was raised there! I have an amazing family and great friends, they have had a huge impact in my life and I love them so much! i really enjoy to be around family, friends, and just people in general. whether we are doing something active or just relaxing and talking. I'd probably go insane if i couldn't go out and talk to people. i can't hold a conversation with myself to well. i enjoy being active whether that is working out or playing sports (all kinds of sports), I am big into sports and play mainly lacrosse, soccer, and football. I also love to mountain bike, snowboard, golf, play some basketball and really just do anything outside and be active with my family and friends. i also love to laugh! Laughter, in my opinion, is the best medicine. Laughing makes you and people around you feel more happy. i love to laugh and love to make people laugh. and i love to be around people who laugh There are two great feelings that i love. one of them is taking those snowboarding boots off after a full day of boarding (or Church shoes after a full day of walking) and the other is the thrill of finding answers and learning new principles out of the scriptures (especially after you spent the last couple days looking for the answer)

Why I am a Mormon

Many people tell me "of course you believe it, you were born and raised in the Mormon church!" but that's not why i am Mormon. yes, I was raised Mormon but unfortunately I wasn't as strong as I could have been and was skeptical to believe that the church was Christ's true church as it professed to be. i didn't necessarily believe or care about it, i went my own direction. but after drifting a little and many long nights and poor choices i made, I came to know that, where I was is not where I wanted my life to be. For the first time, after I came to that realization, I read the book of Mormon with the intent of finding out truth. With the intent that it could help me become where I wanted to be. I read it 3 days straight and finished it. The whole time believing that god would answer my prayers and notice my effort. And graciously, God did answer my prayers and he did notice my effort. with that experience and many others afterwards, I came to know the truthfulness of this gospel and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and that this is Christ's only true church on the earth today. I became closer to Christ. I found the peace in my life I was searching for. and i found that truth i was searching for. I have found that path I wanted to be on. and I am continuing on that path everyday, striving to be closer and closer to our savior Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

I participate in our church's activities and projects and do service work for a family that needs it/or the community. I got called to teach Sunday school for 7 year old's for six months before I left to college and it was the best experience of my life! i love those kids and their sweet spirits and i learned so much from them. I am now currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Tallahassee, Florida Mission!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Josh Beckstrom
Mormon women have high standards, they are hard workers, dependable, and respected. We do believe in equality of men and women. We do not put one above the other. One can not live without the other. They are on equal bases. Men and women have different roles to play but they are on equal ground. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Josh Beckstrom
Yes we believe the Bible to be the words of god as long as it is translated correctly. The Prophets of old wrote the Bible scriptures but when man (not a prophet) got it and tried to translate the meanings inside the scriptures themselves, they corrupted the sacred writings. There are many different versions of the Holy Bible these days because of that. We believe the King James Version to be the most correct translation. The Bible testifies of Christ and so does the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon does not go against the Bible, but it reassures the Bible, supports it, goes hand in hand with the bible and gives us the fully restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through these scriptures we can know of the love God has for all of us and his teachings He wants us to follow. Show more Show less
