Hi I'm Maddi LaMont

I grew up in good ole' Idaho. I am serving my God as a full-time missionary. I'm a MORMON!!!!!!!!!!

About Me

Well I am serving a mission in Calgary, Canada. It was a hard decision to make but I couldn't ignore what God was telling me to do. I am pretty much interested in anything that sounds fun. I love to read, play violin, do mma training (though I highly doubt I will ever have a fight), being outside (I am not afraid to get a litte muddy or sweaty), serving those around me, improving myself, having fun and creating as well, and riding horses. I am game for just about anything. I also have an adventurous side where I like to climb trees, investigate something that looks interesting, and such things like that. When I get back I will be going back to school up in BYU-Idaho. I love it there being able to feel the spirit and see how God is connected with everything.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it to be true. I want to live eternally in a perfect body with all of my brothers' and sisters'. It makes too much sense to me for me to ever deny my faith. The LDS church does so much good that there is no way it could be bad. I also made a covenant with Christ that I would never ever deny him.

How I live my faith

I try to live what I have learned in church on Sundays. I try to live as Christ did and does to this day. I have served as president in every young women's group, music coordinator, temple patron, visiting teaching supervisor, 1st counselor in the relief society. I try to help those who need my help and encourage them to be there best. I try to get to know as many as I can. I take notes in class so that one day I can reread them and remember what I have forgotten and also to keep me in touch with the spirit. Most currently I live my faith by serving a full-time mission. What I do as a missionary is help others have a desire to come unto Christ and to learn more about Him, His teachings, and His gospel. I live it by doing my very best to follow Christ's example that he set for me. I let others know how much I love Christ by showing the love He has for me to them. I live it by serving those around me such as my companion, other missionaries, and the members of the ward I am in.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Maddi LaMont
The very first step is to show a little faith and get down on your knees and offer a word of prayer asking for Him to help you with your troubles, for His love and reassurance. Also just talk to Him like you would any of your friends because that is what He is there for. Then read testimonies of the special witnesses, latter-day prophets, those whom are LDS around you, and those that are found in the scriptures as well. You also need to live his commandments because if you do not then He cannot communicate with you because you do not do as He has asked and if He is not listened to He must follow His own laws He has commanded. What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Maddi LaMont
There are several things that testify to me that there is a God. Everything is too perfectly balanced to happen by chance. The fact that if we were one degree closer to the sun we would burn up or one degree farther away from the sun we would freeze to death is a huge one for me. Also just even by taking a look at nature testifies to me that there is a God. How could such beauty happen by chance? It couldn't. There has to be a divine hand there to guide it. Look at how complex things are and yet how perfectly balanced they are. How could evolution figure that one out by itself without a guiding hand? In my mind it could not. Show more Show less
