Hi I'm Sam Bateman

I love to laugh. I love to hike. I love my crazy family. I'm serving in the Resistencia Argentina mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a very blended family and am extremely blessed to have 12 siblings and 2 sets of wonderful parents. I have a lot of vigor for life. I am usually laughing or smiling. I think you can find something good in every situation if you look hard enough. I love being outdoors horseback-riding and hiking. I also enjoy writing stories and watching movies. I am an avid reader. I really enjoy learning new things. I'm interested in getting a degree in Psychology. I'm excited to learn spanish! :) In October I was called to serve a mission in Resistencia Argentina. I am so excited to serve the Lord by sharing my love and testimony of His gospel. Jesus Christ is my Savior, my brother and my friend. After my 7 week stay at the MTC in Provo, UT. I was assigned to the South Dakota Rapid City Mission to wait for my visa to be accepted. I've been serving here in the states for a little over 9 months and there couldn't have been a better place to wait! I have loved getting to know the people here. Serving the Lord is AMAZING! Just in time for Christmas I received notice that my visa has gone through! Argentina here I come!!! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but I have not always had a strong testimony. A few years ago I stopped attending my church meetings and really didn't know what I believed in regarding my Heavenly Father. I was working 50 hours a week at a restaurant and suffered from insomnia. I was deeply unhappy. I had a close friend invite my to attend church with her and I decided that I would try it out again. Everyone was very nice and I enjoyed going. My Aunt Erika decided to come back to church with me. That very first Sacrament Meeting back I felt prompted to serve a mission. I didn't feel worthy and pushed that thought to the back of my mind. I started requesting time off for church on sundays and after a few months of the Spirit telling me I needed to; I prepared to go on an LDS mission. I moved closer to my family in Arizona and was called to serve in the Resistencia Argentina Mission. I reported to the MTC on February 27, 2013. I can't wait to meet all the wonderful Argentine people! :) I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I'm truly the happiest when I'm living it. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel to this earth and the Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet on the earth today. I know the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Any person can find peace and comfort in its pages. I know that Jesus Christ descended lower than anything, so we, as His brothers and sisters might partake of His salvation and Atonement. I know that I'm a daughter of my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I don't attend a sunday church; I worship everyday. Jesus Christ is never far from my thoughts. I am a missionary. There isn't a single thing I'd rather be doing than serving a mission to bring Heavenly Father's sheep back into His fold. I represent Jesus Christ and try my best to live His teachings and share His gospel. I study my scriptures everyday and pray to my Heavenly Father. I ask questions. I share my testimony. I serve with all my might, mind and strength. I love the people I serve and teach. I forgive.
