Hi I'm Jordon

I love music. I bleed blue. I am an Intramural champion. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite music to listen to is classic rock. I love Journey most of all and wish that I could play the guitar like Neil Schon. I played football and baseball in high school and learned to become a calculus nerd! For that reason, I am studying Math! However, I want to go to dental school and later become an orthodontist. I suffered through braces, but am so grateful for what they did for me. I am the oldest in my family with 3 siblings. I spent 2 years in Chile and it changed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since I was born due to my parents and grandparents being members as well. I always went to church during high school, but never really grasped the incredible significance of what the church means to me and my family. I decided to serve a mission and at the age of 19, I set off to serve in the northern part of Chile. Here was where I was able to internalize the messages and principles that I had been reciting since I was little. The members were also something that truly opened my eyes as well by seeing how the church formed a part of their life rather than just be something that they attended every Sunday. I was able to see the difference between families that lived the Gospel and those that didn't. Most importantly, my testimony of Jesus Christ grew and was strengthened enormously. I found that there is more to being a Mormon than just going to church every Sunday. Understanding that there really are prophets and Apostles on the earth makes it more important to share it with others.

How I live my faith

I am a Gospel Doctrine teacher and get so excited for every week to teach. I visit 4 of the women in my ward every month to check on how things are going and how I can better help them as a Priesthood holder. I participate in the activities that the ward has every few weeks and try to 'grace' the other ward members with my voice in the choir.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

While serving the people of Chile during my two year mission, I watched a movie that explains the trials, afflictions and accomplishments of Joseph Smith several times with people that were interested in our message. The spirit I felt which was present testified to me everytime that Joseph Smith did in fact see God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. He was a prophet of God that restored all of the necessary elements of God's church so that we can return to live with Him again in eternal happiness. Here is the website that will take you to this movie that you can watch: http://www.mormonchannel.org/joseph. Something also important to understand is that Joseph Smith is by no means more important to us than God or Christ; he is just the leader whom God entrusted to bring back His church for us today.
