Hi I'm Diana F.

I grew up in the southeastern United States. I have 4 daughters. I work full-time as an academic coach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 daughters who are all married. Each one lives in a different state, so we really cherish times we can be together. We like to do crafts, and we have a crafting blog. RIght now I have 4 grandchildren, but soon will have 6. I enjoy quilting. I work with teachers at a middle school to help them offer rigorous instruction. I graduated from college and then raised my family. When I was around 40, I started teaching full time and going to school to complete my education requirements. It was a change for our family, but we made it work.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were Mormon, so that's how my faith began. It isn't enough to have parents that are Mormons, at some point you have to know for yourself. The Church was always a big part of our lives, and so I always believed, but I remember one particular day when I really felt the Lord telling me all that I had ever known and believed about Him was true. I was in college and had just finished reading the Book of Mormon once more. I had been praying for several days that I could know for sure that this was my own testimony of the truth. Af first, nothing happened, and when something did, it wasn't a voice or a vision. It was just an overwhelming feeling of peace and happiness. I walked outside after an evening class and looked heavenward at the darkening sky and I just knew. The spirit filled my soul, and I just knew. You can know it, too.

How I live my faith

I try to serve my Heavenly Father every day. Each morning I pray that I can find a way to serve other people. I start my day with reading from the Book of Mormon-- in Spanish. I am trying to improve my Spanish skills so that I can communicate with our Latino sisters. Currently I serve as the Stake Relief Society president. That means that I visit other the women's organization-- called Relief Society-- in 12 different congregations in the area. Some are as far at 90 miles away. I work with their leaders there to help the women come to Christ.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Diana F.
Reading the scriptures each day gives me a good foundation. I have come to know Christ through reading the scriptures. I know how He treated people, and I can try to be like Him. I hear His voice beckoning me to "come unto Him." I know that by reading the scriptures and following the commandments that I read, I will be worthy to stand-- or kneel-- in His presence one day. Are Mormons Christians?

Diana F.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He snatched my soul from death, and saved it from sin. It is only through His merits and mercy that I can and will have eternal life. I love Jesus Christ. I want to be a Christ-like woman. I want to follow Him. Show more Show less
