Hi I'm Taylor

I love climbing, biking and slacklining. I am from the mountains, the mountains are where I belong and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student preparing for a mission in Cochabamba, Bolivia. I grew up in the heart of the mountains and they have predominately defined my life. I was raised spending time backpacking, hiking, climbing, skiing, snowshoeing and so forth. As I grew up and started to follow my own hobbies, passions and interests, I came to realize how much I loved the mountains. I began to grow in ways that drew me to the mountains and the beautiful creations of my Father in Heaven. I find myself currently trying to balance the practicalities of school and work with the pull to spend my days amongst the rock spires and raging rivers. I love to spend my time slacklining, climbing, road biking (both for fun and in competition), hiking and spending any time outside possible. I love the earth and its wonders that have been created. I yearn to travel and adventure within many other mountain ranges across the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but there came a time when I wanted to find my own faith and testimony. As I began to drift from the testimonies of my parents and searched for my own, I decided to follow the counsel found in Moroni 10:4 and seek out whether or not the Book of Mormon and the Church were true. I prayed and prayed and, in time, my answer came. A feeling like a burning white fire started in my heart and spread to every inch in my body. From that point on, I knew that what I was doing was God's will. Over time, I came to know with all of my heart that the Church was true, that the Book of Mormon is the most true book on the face of the earth and that the power of the Atonement is the most enabling and incredible power on earth. I testify of the beauty of the Gospel and how I am able to learn and gain a testimony of it line by line and precept upon precept. The happiness that I feel from living this Gospel and following and trying to be more like Christ is beyond compare with anything else here on earth. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel on the earth and sought out truth just as each of us can do. I love this Gospel and I declare these things in the name of my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently involved in a leadership position that helps unite the brothers (adult males) of our ward. I am able to help plan trips to the temple, find ways to do service for others and help maintain the well-being of others in my ward. I love my calling and am so blessed to be able to serve.

Are Mormons Christians?

Christ is the center of our church and there is nothing that could qualify a religious entity more Christian than that. Show more Show less
