Hi I'm Preston

I am the oldest of six boys. I enjoy reading, singing, traveling, and boating. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school in May of 2012. I attended college for a semester and I now live at home waiting to serve a full time mission in Spain. I am passionate about literature and books in general. I love reading. I love classic literature. I enjoy singing immensely; although I am quite mediocre in that aspect. I love wakeboarding and snow skiing. I have a passion for traveling and I cannot wait to live in Europe for two years. I have two wonderful parents and five fantastic younger brothers. I have enjoyed hiking, wrestling, running, scouting, and playing the piano in my 19 years of life. My favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, which is exceptionally unusual for a guy. But I love it. I love life, and I am excited for whatever else it has in store for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of His church because I love Him. I want to walk in Christ's footsteps. He did everything for me and I want to do everything that I can for Him. The only unique thing that I can offer him is my will. So I am committed to aligning my will with His. This church shows me where I need to go in life. It answers all of my questions. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I know why I am on this earth and what I need to do. It gives me purpose. There is so much more to life than the majority of people realize. I have come to know my Lord and Savior in such a way that I can never deny what I know and feel. He is my best friend, and because of my relationship with Him, I have no reason to fear. I have no reason to be afraid of anything. Everything will be ok. Jesus Christ lived and died for me. I know this to be true. I know that Jesus is the only way to find true happiness. His life and His love has touched my heart so deeply. I only want to serve Him. I know that I am fallen and can offer little, but I want to do everything I can. I love Him. And I know He loves me. I know that He is the Only Begotten Son of the Father. I know that He performed an Atonement so that I could repent of my sins and eventually become like Him, just as He commands us to do. I know that God is there. I will never doubt. God is real; and He loves me. I know that God and Jesus Christ appeared to Jospeh Smith in the Sacred Grove and I know that, through the power of God, Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. And that gospel is found only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that it is the only true church. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy. I see the sorry state of the world and it seems like everyone is looking for something because they are never content. I am so blessed to have what people are looking for, and I am even more blessed to have the opportunity to give two years of my life solely dedicated to help them find it.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by teaching 10 year old boys every sunday. When I went to college, I was the person that scheduled all of the bishop's appointments and was basically his personal assistant. I was also a hometeacher, which meant I was assigned to visit and uplift other apartments in my ward. I enjoyed these assignments very much.
