Hi I'm Brandilyn

I'm a piece of work, but a work in progress!

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah with my amazing family who I love to death! I have two brothers and a darling little sister, and of course my lovebird parents. THEY'RE THE BEST! I am a sophomore in college and my major is nursing. I chose to go into nursing because I am a type 1 diabetic (was diagnosed at 5 years old) and although having it has been a trial it has also been a huge blessing...It's taught me about personal responsibility, self control, just how amazing the bodies God created are and countless other lessons! This specific trial has turned into a blessing and has been a guideline for where I want to be/what I want to do with my life. I'm a firm believer trials are there for our personal benefit! I am currently serving a mission in Columbus, Ohio and I can honestly say that being a missionary is thee best calling possible! I wish everyone could serve a mission and experience all of the amazing things and meet all of the crazy people I've been able to meet. It's by far one of the best decisions I've made in my 20 years on this earth. I have been so blessed to be healthy and able to come out and serve the Lord for 18 months. It isn't long enough at all, that's for sure! But while I'm here in the OH-IO....GO BUCKEYES!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I not only believe, but I know for a fact this church is true. I have been so blessed to have a family who is strong in the church. It's the best having a support system for one another at all times. One of the things that my parents have always encouraged me to do is to find out for myself if this church is Christ's true church. I have taken the challenge--find out for myself. Through prayer, reading the Book of Mormon, serving others, attending the temple, and so many other things the church provides for guidance, I have been able to know of the truth that this church contains. I have found that the happiest times in my life are when I'm serving others and the Lord and can feel his spirit with me.

How I live my faith

Faith is an action word....so, I live my faith by acting in a way that shows I know who I am and who I can become. It's hard to view ourselves the way God does, but as I try to see His vision for who I can be, I am able to live closer to the standards He has set. Obviously nobody is perfect so I can't say I live a perfect and 100% obedient life, but I live my faith by continually trying to become better and learn from experiences I go through. I live my faith by using the gift our Savior gave us-the opportunity to repent; to go from good to better and from better to best.
