Hi I'm Lydney

I'm a Filipino. I was studying Computer Engineering. I'm a Mormon missionary

About Me

I was studying as a Computer Engineer. I like computers. I'm kind of good with it. I like reading books, any kinds of books; comics, novel, encyclopedia, atlas, etc, you name it. I like playing too. From sports to video games. Probably I chose computer as my course of career is because of video games. Trying to develop them and such. And basically, I have pretty good skill with troubleshooting computers (I break, I fix:D). Oh, my favorite sport is basketball. I love basketball. If I was taller I love dunking balls into the rims.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in this faith. I loved it as a child. Then felt like a burden as a teenager, at times it felt like only a tradition in the family. Probably because you want to explore outside the boundaries but with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, sometimes you feel you can't. I attended seminary and institute, an educational system of the church, yet I myself didn't have my own testimony. Then when I was 16 years of age, I decided to read the Book of Mormon, with the help of my Dad, I finished it and asked Heavenly Father if the Book was true. I then felt a burning feeling in my heart, became emotional and cried. Since then, when I feel the confirmation of the truthfulness of the Gospel, I ,most of the time, get so emotional, just like President Eyring :D. Having that confirmation through the Holy Ghost, I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that my purpose as a missionary is to share what I felt that they can feel it too (though probably not in the same way). I love this feeling. This gave me purpose in life and direction.

How I live my faith

I am now currently serving as a missionary in England London South Mission. I love my service here in England. Not only because I experience new stuff and scenery here in England, but I love the experience I get from witnessing people changing their lives to the better. Big time. I love the experience of recognizing the Holy Ghost as a companion, as a guide, and as a teacher for the ones that we teach, for me and my companion. This service for the Lord humbles me as a person and teaches me about the different lifestyles of many people and how it changes as they put the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. It changed mine too.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Lydney
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He never changes because he knows what we need. That's why he always call teachers, guides, and revelators since Adam's, Moses's, and many other prophet's time. Isn't it obvious that we need prophets today? Look at the world. I think people are more wicked than before. Why would God won't call another prophet in our times? Show more Show less
