Hi I'm Kapono Faitau

About to serve my mission in Honolulu, HI. I love Heavenly Father, Jesus Chrsit, and my family. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm a full-time student in college majoring in Business Management/Administration. I'm trying to pursue a Hospitality/Hotel management career, but majoring in Business just in case that avenue isn't what I wanted. I work 2 jobs as well. I work at a Holiday Inn as a Front Desk representative, and a community bank. Both jobs I really appreciate, and my schooling as well, but I'm placing a hold on all of it to serve my 2 yr mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I've never felt so prompted to do so, I am following the promptings in my heart and soul. Amazingly enough, both jobs acknowledge my mission and support it, and they are both willing to accept my resignation gracefully. Both have even said they would re-hire me when I return! The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Why I am a Mormon

I have never felt so in place... I have always felt like I was out of place. This world can be hard, and challenging, and lots of times, you feel like you're alone. Sometimes, it feels like no one will listen, and everyone turns their back on you. I have a strong testimony of the LOVE of Jesus Christ. He is the best friend anyone could ever have. He will always be there. He will always listen. He will always have an answer. He will always help you achieve your goals. He will NEVER give up on you. I am a mormon because when I converted to this gospel, I had to pray to Heavenly Father to SEE if this was true. I had to find out for MYSELF if this was honestly HIS church, and if the teachings behind this doctrine were what He wanted. I had to have an epiphany of some sort to learn that He LOVES all men & women. I am a mormon because what I prayed for when I converted proved to me to be true. I have MANY experiences in which this gospel has proven itself, day-in & day-out. He LIVES, and He sent prophets and leaders here to help guide us... Any questions, ask the missionaries! :)

How I live my faith

I am currently a ward-missionary for my ward. I go on team-ups (which is another way of saying pairs for home visiting families to teach them of our faith, or simply fellowshipping) with the missionaries all the time to hopefully bring others to Christ. I have organized a charity service project before and with help from the church, we accomplished our goal. I work at a hotel, and we replace our mattresses every 8 yrs, and coincidentally, this past yr was our 8th yr, and I asked our General Manager what we do with the extra beds? And he said we simply give them to lower hotels, or throw them out?! I then asked if I put together a service project to pick-up, and deliver, matresses, would he mind if I did so to help out families in need of them? He said he had absolutely no problem with that. With help from the church members, missionaries, and non-member volunteers, we were able to move 55 units that day (30mattresses & 25 box springs) and delivered them to families who needed them. The joy and hapiness I get when I'm in the service of others just brings me closer to Christ every time.
