Hi I'm Dayton

I'm a college student studying Electrical Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of seven children. Growing up, I participated in Boy Scouts, and in high school I did speech, drama, debate and tennis. I lived in Brasil for two years serving as an LDS missionary. I recently got my BS in Eletrical Engineering and now am a Graduate student.. I enjoy the outdoorsy stuff available in Utah, like hiking, biking, climbing, river rafting, etc (as weather permits). I play chess and I love to read fiction. My favorite Sci-Fi authors are Timothy Zahn and Orson Scott Card.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me the gospel when I was young and I learned a lot at church, but when I was 15, I read the Book of Mormon all the way though for the first time and gained a personal witness by the Holy Ghost that it is true. Since, that knowledge has helped me make good decisions to live Christ's gospel and live high standards. A lot of happiness has come into my life by choosing to live the standards I learn in Church and furthermore I know that God loves us and genuinely cares about our lives. He knows what we go though and knows how to comfort us best.

How I live my faith

Daily prayer and scripture study is important to living my faith. In my local congregation, I am in charge of picking the songs we sing in our Sunday meetings and arrange to have members perform special musical numbers in these meetings as well.
