Hi I'm Melissa

I'm 1 of 12 kids and a world-traveler. I'm a future psychologist. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a BYU student studying Psychology and French. I love finding beauty in the world through art, dance, travel, reading, film, nature, learning, music, and my relationships with people. I come from a family of 12 kids, with 5 of those kids adopted from Russia. I grew up in California, Illinois, Kansas, Utah, China, and Arkansas. My life goals include being a wife and mother, being a child clinical psychologist, making a difference in the world, and going to Antarctica. I am currently serving a full-time mission sharing the gospel in Jacksonville, Florida.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because God has been there for me throughout my whole life--during the good times and the bad times. I have felt God's love and guidance in my life. I have prayed and asked God if the Book of Mormon are the words of prophets of God. Just as God promises, He answered my question through prayer and through feeling the comfort and peace of the Holy Spirit. I am a Mormon because God continues to be there for me every day of my life as I stumble and fall, then get back up and try again to be a good and holy person.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do my best every day to be the person that God wants me to be and become. I study the scriptures and pray to God. I go to church and participate in services. I remember that everyone is a child of God and is good at heart. I try my best to treat everyone the way I want to be treated and the way that God would treat them. I share what I know to be true so that others can have the same happiness and peace that I find in the gospel and my relationship with Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father.
