Hi I'm Mike

I was born and raised in Las Vegas. I am auditor, an artist, a state champion in volleyball, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently enrolled in the Master of Accountancy program. I am almost in my last year, and I'm excited to be done. I love playing sports, especially basketball and volleyball. I fish, draw, hike, watch movies, cook, play board games, and spend most of my time with my beautiful wife of one and a half years.

Why I am a Mormon

Though my parents were members of the Church, I have found out for myself that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and He has restored His church upon the earth. I know this because of the testimony I have gained through a thorough study of the scriptures and sincere prayer. The Book of Mormon, together with The Holy Bible, are sacred scripture that testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ. I have come to know my Savior through their teachings, and I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know this because of the peaceful assurance I feel time and time again as I read it and pray to know if it is true. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I testify also that Christ has restored His church through the prophet Joseph Smith, and gave him power to baptize and perform other sacred saving ordinances that are necessary for us to return to live with our Heavenly Father after this life. One of these sacred ordinances, performed in temples, is the sealing of families for eternity. My family has been sealed together, as I have also been sealed to my wife, and I know without a doubt that if we strive to live the gospel and repent of our sins, we may be a family for eternity. This is the greatest of all the gifts of God, and I invite you to receive that same peaceful assurance by reading and praying about The Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

My faith in Jesus Christ is central to everything I do. After serving as a missionary for the Church, I strive to continue living according to the principles I taught others while on my mission. I currently serve as a ward secretary, taking minutes and coordinating leadership meetings every week. I also am blessed to be assigned as a "home teacher" to two other families that live near me. I am able to check up on them each month and make sure their temporal and spiritual needs are met. It is a lot of work to juggle with supporting a family and school work, but it is all worth it. I know that I am doing what the Lord wants me to by the joy I feel while fulfilling my duties in all facets of life.
