Hi I'm Samantha

I'm an enthusiastic book reader. I love all things Disney. I've been called of God by a prophet to be a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, especially fantasy, mystery, and historical. I love to listen to Church and instrumental music. I am an only child and have attend college but do not yet have a degree. I grew up with "The Taming of the Shrew" and "The Comedy of Errors" by Shakespeare. I have also been raised with the early TV shows of Sherlock Holmes. My mother raised me with movie musicals and I have added to our collection of movies and music. I am currently serving a mission in the Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Mission for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a convert when she was a teenager and my father was raised in this church. They raised me with the high standards, from modest clothing to choosing friends that are good influences. Most of my prayers have not been answered while still on my knees. They are answered for the most part by other people around me, who don't know what I'm going through. From someone at church saying, "We're all in this together," to a topic of a talk on repentance, to a lesion reminding the class to write in a journal to be able to look back and remember past spiritual experiences. Even though I was raised in this church, I decided for myself that I needed to study and learn in the hopes that one day I could teach someone else and see them grow and receive understanding from our Heavenly Father. I asked friends of other religions about their beliefs and I am grateful for their love of Christ but I always feel like there is more in this church. There is full knowledge and the full truth that I have not found anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission in Oklahoma City right now and am learning how to add to my faith. I am finding my weakness and learning new skills and tools to make my weakness become strengths. I am learning how to talk and pray with everyone I meet.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes, families can be together forever. Having lost 5 out of my 6 grandparents, a cousin and several close friends it has been a great comfort to me that this is not the end of our lives. As far as I know, those loved ones who have died are never far away from those of us who are still living. If we are sealed as a family we can be eternally connected. In the temple husbands and wives can be sealed as couples and their children can be sealed to them. That is one of God's greatest blessings. Show more Show less
