Hi I'm Kori Peterson

I have lived in 5 states, and currently live in Texas. I am a student at BYU-Provo, studying Psychology.

About Me

I swam competitively starting in 8th grade, and swam for 3 high schools in 3 different states! I love baking, especially desserts ;) My favorite things to bake (and eat) are cupcakes and cookies. Although sugar is my guilty pleasure, I strive to keep my body as healthy as possible. That includes daily exercise, only putting things into my body which are wholesome and natural, and a positive attitude! I am currently a psychology major at BYU-Provo, but when I return from my mission i will switch to a major in Health and Wellness with a minor in Nutrition. One of my biggest dreams was to be able to live in Europe; I have always loved the culture and the language of the Europeans. I will be serving a full time mission in the Alpine German-speaking mission! One day I would like to go back to Europe and visit the places of my heritage, which is England and Denmark.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a firm testimony that this gospel is true. I was born into this church, and I really appreciate the values that I was taught growing up. I have explored other churches and became educated on other religions, but whenever I attend sacrament meeting with faith, I have a fierce confirmation that this church is true.

How I live my faith

My most recent calling involved me helping those in need by offering service. If anyone was sick, stressed, or having a hard time, it was my job to help to ease their mind and letting them know that someone is aware of their troubles and is willing to help. I've always enjoyed sharing my faith by example. I want people to know that I don't only obey the commandments because I'm asked to, but because I WANT to. I let people know that my choices of lifestyle have made me a happier and more successful person than I would be with lower standards.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kori Peterson
Nobody is REQUIRED to do anything. The decision on whether or not to serve a mission is a choice that is entirely up to the individual. Is it encouraged? Of course! There are many blessings offered to those who do serve missions, and it is an amazing opportunity. But it is not required of anyone. Show more Show less
