Hi I'm Adam

I grew up in California and Utah. I'm studying Computer Science and working in IT at BYU-I. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four brothers. I'm currently a sophomore at BYU-Idaho. I am a part of the school's volunteer organization called Student Support and I love it! My favorite sports are soccer, tennis, and volleyball, but I'll really play anything for fun. I like going camping, hiking, and caving. I really enjoy music; listening to it, and learning to play guitar. I worked for a contractor doing construction projects while I was off track but now I'm working in the IT department here at BYU-I. I love hanging out with friends and my bros, playing games, watching movies, and doing whatever.

Why I am a Mormon

Everything makes sense. Being a Mormon has helped me in my life to make choices that have blessed my life immensley. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has also taught me that families are forever. I also try hard not to worry about the bad stuff happening in the world because God is in charge. The Gospel of Jesus Christ guide people back to our Heavenly Father so following those teachings are important to me. I grew up in a very active family. I have learned that in life one cannot do whatever one wants whenever one wants. Living the comandments brings true happiness. I feel a great joy in saying that I have accepted the call to follow Christ at such an early stage in life. Some people may say I was "forced" to be a member of the church, but I would say that my parents created an environment in our home to learn the gospel and held everyone to standards. It wasn't that I was forced to be a Latter Day Saint, I was "forced" to make the choice to find out for myself. I did find out for myself, I read the Book of Mormon, pondered, and asked God. It is true.

How I live my faith

I know that God our Heavenly Father loves all of us and answers our prayers. Everyday I converse with my Father in Heaven and I tell him my goals and ask him how I can be better. I've discovered a lot about myself this way. The University that I attend has a volunteer organization called student support which assists the student in a diverse number of ways to have great life experiences while in college. Participating in Student Support helps me me apply the gospel in my own life and have the joy of serving others. I love being attentive to others and making friends with everyone. I like to make people feel like they are important and known. I believe that God has a plan for all of us and when we give him our goals, and we are persistent, our Heavenly Father helps us make it happen. I attend the regular church meetings as well and invite my friends to learn with me. I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible because there is a literal power that I can feel when I start my day reading these sacred books.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God’s Son. It contains the history of ancient people that lived in the ancient Americas. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets. The Book of Mormon concludes with a promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). Show more Show less
