Hi I'm Melanie Chantry

Hi, I'm Melanie and I'm a Mormon. I love to read and listen to music.

About Me

I grew up in the country, up on a mountain in Eastern Washington. I have 6 sisters and 4 brothers. We were all homeschooled. Once I turned eighteen I went to cosmetology school. I love reading, laughing with my friends and family and drawing and painting when I have time. I always wished I could have a motorcycle. Up until I decided to go on a mission I was working cutting hair.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I have a strong testimony of the church and a commitment to live the principles of the gospel. I have never had an ahha moment and I have struggled at times I know that I am happiest when I live the commandments of God and live righteously. Through experiencing life I have been able to see some of the difference between light and darkness and I know that in the light is where I belong. The only way to live in the light is with the light of Christ.

How I live my faith

Right now I am preparing to serve a mission for the church. It was not something I planned to do however I know that the Lord wants me to share what I know and love. I will be serving in Texas. As I grew up and then left home and worked I have been able to do many different things because of my membership in this church. I have spent countless hours on service projects from helping lay turf, painting a downtown community, helping install outdoor flowers, benches and birdfeeders at a nursing home, bringing firewood to the needy and helping people move. I have served on various activity committees, taught the youth of the church, and as a youth served as a leader in our youth group. Right now I am serving a full time mission for the church. I am serving in the Texas, Fort Worth Mission.
