Hi I'm Dean

I am form Idaho. I love this beautiful area we live in and I love to be out flying Kites, BIG ONES!

About Me

My Mom and Dad taught me to build things, I love to make anything I can. I have built bird houses to real houses. Telescopes to radios and anything I can find in between. I have helped thousands of kids build their first kite. I love to find an old rock, cut away the overburden and find a beautiful Opal inside. Of course, It helps me to live close by the Spencer Opal mine and be able to search there for the opal laden rock I use. I have 3 kids and several grand kids. I love them all.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Family. My family is my most valued asset. I believe in the LDS church because it promotes Family. It teaches us how important our families are and why we should teach our children to look to their Father in Heaven for guidance, streangth and truth. It teaches us of about our Heavenly Family. Where we are all children of our Father in Heaven. We are all therefore brothers and sisters. We are taught of the plan of salvation which teaches us how to gain real happiness. We are taught to help those around us. This is made easy when we believe that we are all brothers and sisters and children of our Father in Heaven. I have felt the pure joy that is obtained only by trying to live worthy of our Heavenly Fathers love. Sometimes I fall short, But I will always get up and try again to do what is right. I know He loves me, helps me and comforts me when needed.

How I live my faith

I have lived in 4 states with my sweetheart Vickie, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Illinoi. In all 4 states I have been fortunate to work with the youth of our church. I have been amazed by the strength of the youth. I have taken so many of the young men camping, I have been hiking with the young men and the young women. I have been able to teach our sunday school classes for the teen age kids and the kids older then that, some even reached into their 90's. All have been a blessing in my life. They help me believe in our Father in heaven. They give me hope for our future. They become my extended Family. Vickie and I have built our home to have fun with the kids of all ages. We have a large yard with a volly ball court, horseshoe pit, two fire pits ( one by the creek and one by the deck) We have a trampoline, a hugh dirt pile for kids to dig in, lawn to play on and to fly kites on, a small woods (the kids call it), to walk and play in and yes we have a swimming pool! We built these things not to show off, but so our kids would want to bring their friends to our house to hang out during their teen years. They are now in their late 30's and they still bring friends home once in a while. It has been wonderful to share this yard with our kids, friends and our extended family. My borthers and sisters will come and camp in our yard at times, just to enjoy the area. It is wonderful to spend time with all that come to have fun in our yard.
