Hi I'm Brayden

I'm the second oldest of eight children. I'm going on a mission to Monterrey Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love listening, reading, and debating about political and ideological issues. I'm a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy books and movies. I love technology and love to read about the potential of future tech in shaping my life. I lift weights and exercise almost every day because I want to stay fit and it's fun. I'm enrolled at Brigham Young University and will likely major in political science. I love to learn new things and to teach the things that I have learned to others. I hope to one day work as a political consultant or teach political science as a professor. I am serving in Mexico as a missionary for the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

This church just makes so much sense! There is no church that I have investigated that is as logical, put together, and full of truth as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is. The Plan of Salvation is the most beautiful doctrine that the Church teaches. Through this doctrine everything else just makes sense. Jesus Christ and others organized this Earth in six periods known as the Creation. Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden so that man may live in the event known as the Fall. Jesus Christ made it possible for mankind to be freed from sin and resurrected when he underwent the Atonement in Gethsemane, was crucified, and rose on the third day. In the Final Judgment all the hard work that every faithful man and woman had to go through will be rewarded as they are welcomed into God's presence and crowned with eternal glory to reign for all of eternity. It just makes sense. The Atonement in particular is the most important doctrine in the Church. The idea that anything that I do wrong, any sin I commit or any service I neglect, can be forgiven gives me great hope and joy in this life. I have personally felt the cleansing power of Jesus Christ's Atonement in my life and have felt my sins be forgiven. Nothing can compare to that feeling. It is because of these truths that I have chosen to be a missionary for this Church. It is my wish to share the Gospel with all that would hear it and make the truth known to all who will accept it.

How I live my faith

One of the greatest things about the Church is the focus on service towards individuals and towards our communities as a whole. I have served in many callings for the Church. I have been a Sunday School teacher, which I loved, a home teacher, a leader in my youth group, and am currently serving as a missionary in Monterrey, Mexico. Beyond my callings I have also taken time out of my life to serve my community and church. I am an Eagle Scout and organized a service project that took the information recorded on tombstones and uploaded it to an online database that allows relatives of the deceased to find their loved ones' graves. I also did everything from cleaning up roads to building and painting fences for people with disabilities. Most importantly, I am a brother to my siblings and a son to my parents. I try to show my love to them in all of my interactions with them. From babysitting to framing and laying tile in the house, I try to serve them as much as I possibly can. Without my family it would be much more difficult to be the loyal servant to my Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ that I try to be.
