Hi I'm Matthew James Parrish

Born in Utah of Goodly Parents. Serving the lord in Missouri on a mission. And I'm one of them Mormon people.

About Me

I am a child of God. I love music, any and all kinds. I enjoy all sports, football, basketball, tennis, track etc. I went to Utah State Univeristy. I'm serving a mission in the Missouri Independence Mission. So ya... its pretty cool. I have 2 brothers. One older and one younger. Except my younger Brother is a giant and is now like 6'6" so i guess i'm the little brother now. But its not about the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog. I have a strange connection with my love of oreos. I really really, like them. I love to have lots of fun and to have an effective p day. My mission has been the greatest experience of my life. My testimony of Jesus Christ has sky rocketed. I know what I share is true. I love my family and am grateful for the knowledge that I have that my family can be together forever. Nothing I've come across has yet compared with the happiness that comes from living this gospel. Truth has been restored. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My parents are members and their parents are members and so on till the time that this gospel has been restored to the earth. Having family that crossed the plains with the pioneers gives me strength and testimony to how true this gospel is. I try my best to represent Christ and my family daily. I slip up and mess up but that's OK. I know its true, I've tested Moroni's promise in Moroni 10:3-5 and I know its true. And nothing can take that away. I know what I know. It blesses my life and gives me hope in times of trouble. I do my best so that my family can be together forever.

How I live my faith

Well, I'm serving the Lord on the mission so i try not to keep the faith but to share it, and do so with everyone. I like to show my faith more by example then by words. I like to take into my life the idea of always sharing the gospel and when necessary to use words. My mission has had a huge impact on my life in which I will forever be grateful. No words can do justice to how true this gospel is and that is why I don't try. Arise and shine. I haven't always lived my life the way I should but now I know its true and nothing can stop me. This gospel is true. I hope to be an example to everyone I come in contact with. My goal is to have others want to know Christ because they know me. I make mistakes, often to be honest. And I'll make more today and the next day. But that's alright. Christs life was all about service and I guess I just try to follow his example the best I can. Even though i don't always do so well, I try. Isn't that what its about? Do your best and let Christ take care of the rest.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Matthew James Parrish
As a missionary we teach people that in order to know if what we are sharing and Mormonism is true, all they have to do is ask God. As it promises us in Moroni 10:3-5 if we read The Book of Mormon and ponder the message it contains and then ask God with a sincere heart, real intent and faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost will manifest the truth of it to us through our thoughts and our feelings. We can also learn through experience. Apply the teachings of The Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and see if it improves your life. As it says in Matthew 7, a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit and a evil tree cannot bring forth good fruit and that by the fruits you can know. Every member of Christ's Church has had to do this for themselves. I know for myself that what I share as a missionary is true. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Matthew James Parrish
As a missionary I go from door to door sharing a message of Jesus Christ. We share how His church was lost after He was crucified and the Apostles were rejected and killed. We share that through The Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, truths about Jesus Christ and His church have been restored. And that if people will just read and pray they can come to know for themselves that what we have to share is true. We know that if nothing else, it can bring happiness, peace and joy to your lives. Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ. We have been called by a Prophet of God and we share what we know. Show more Show less
