Hi I'm Tom

I grew up in West Valley City, Utah. I'm an engineer in training. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student working on an engineering degree. I am a musician and play anything I can get my hands on. I like to collect things like rocks and minerals, foreign currency, instruments, and MTG cards. I like to read classics like Les Miserables, The Count of Monte Cristo, and the Three Musketeers.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is a happiness that I find in this church that I cannot find anywhere else. There is a truth that is testified to me as I read the Book of Mormon of this gospel. I know where I came from, why I'm here, and where I am going, and this is a comfort to me, and one that everyone needs to know. I am part of this church to be a positive influence on this world. Service and doing good for your fellow man is important, and I am proud to be part of a church that supports serving your fellow man.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. Sunday I go to church and I help to prepare the building for the service. As a youth I was involved in meeting with our bishop, a local religious leader, to talk about how my friends in my classes are doing, and what can be done to help them, spiritually and temporally. During the week I help my neighbors with good deeds, like shoveling the snow, mowing a lawn, saying hi with a smile, and all for their benefit. I help my bishop to watch over the ward with my home teaching calling, visiting with members and non-members to see how they are doing and what help they need. I am serving an LDS mission to Tokyo Japan starting in June of 2013, and I am excited to serve the people of Japan.
