Hi I'm Karly Borgholthaus

I LOVE TO LAUGH! I love stickers, traveling, the ocean, the people of South Carolina and naps! and you guessed it I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 21 year old Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I have been called to the work and assigned in the South Carolina Columbia Mission (the SCCM) and I absolutely love South Carolina! I am grateful for my family and they mean everything to me. I love to sing! It reminds me that Heavenly Father loves us so much and gave us this earth to be happy and that we can show our love for him by praising him in all we do and say! I wish I could live in a chandelier because I love everything girlie and sparkly, but I love to walk in some good ol' mud too! Love me some mud... I love EVERYTHING! (can you tell)Just a fact! but above all else I LOVE TO LAUGH! :D

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that I want my family forever. I wanted to know that we are not alone on this earth just fighting through life. I wanted to know that I could make mistakes and progress and have goals that actually matter. I wanted to know that someone loves me even when others don't. And I know that all of these things have been a part of my life because of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know I have all these things as long as I remember Jesus Christ and do as he did. It's pretty simple really... All he did was say, "Come and Follow Me." All we have to do is take his outstretched hand and take that step.

How I live my faith

I live by my faith by always trying to do what I think the Lord, Jesus Christ, would want me to be doing. I am serving a mission so every day is devoted to serving the Lord in his kingdom. I love talking with other people because I know that each and every one of us is Heavenly Father's child and we are brothers and sisters. Why wouldn't we just want to share our happiness with all of our siblings?

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Karly Borgholthaus
In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith' and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." So the Bible does say that we are all saved by grace, but that is not all. James 2:17-18 says, " Faith without works is dead being alone. Yea, a man may say, thou hast faith and I have works, show me thy faith without thy works, but I will show thee y faith by my works." We demonstrate our love for and faith in Christ by using our actions. If you say you believe, but don't act like it, you don't really believe. Not everyone who says they believe in Jesus will be saved. It is only those who do what God says that will be saved. Everyone sins and makes mistakes, so it is important to remember that there is no way we could possibly get by on just our faith and actions. We all still need the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ to return to Heavenly Father. Nephi said in 2 Nephi 25:23 that, "We know that it is by grace we are saved, after all we can do." Faith in Christ and the good works that naturally flow out of that faith are necessary. Show more Show less
