Hi I'm Maverick

I love to play sports, watching movies, and also like hiking new places. I'm serving a mission in Provo, UT and I'm a mormon.

About Me

Some things to know about me! I love talking about me because well... I'm Awesome! IF you don't know yet I'm writing a book called "Humility and How I Mastered It" All fun aside though I love helping people and doing any kind of service for them. Right now I'm serving a mission in Provo, Utah and I've helped a lot of people move, or in other words, I'm on a path to becoming a Tetris champion! I'm also sadly 20 years old and I can't imagine how my parents must feel coming up on 50 soon. I will find a cure for aging though so I won't have to worry about that, ever! In all simpleness of me though, I love to play sports, movies [Scott Pilgrim vs the World] and love to make people happy. I plan on going to UVU after my mission and will either go into acting or entrepreneurship, and planning on eventually going to BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church most my life but I really only went because my parents forced me. I would also miss church a lot if I had a sports game on that day and it would take priority over it. It wasn't until I was 16 years old where I started getting more interested in the Church and wanted to learn for myself whether or not this was true. I went out one day with missionaries and helped teach about the Plan of Salvation and I could feel something, which I now know is the Holy Ghost! I ended up reading the Book of Mormon and did Moroni's challenge (Moroni 10:3-5) Which says , Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. There is only 2 options. Either it's a lie and the whole thing is made up, or, it is True, which meant that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that this was Christ Church here on the Earth once again! I felt the Holy Ghost tell me that it was true and it has been apart of my life ever since.

How I live my faith

I strive me best to follow Christ example and that means doing the things he would do. It envelopes every aspect of my life and it has made such a big difference in my life. In the Book of Mormon it taught me and important lesson in the last book ( Moroni 7 :45-46) And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail.
