Hi I'm Bethany

I study Medicine, I enjoy playing sports, I love travelling the world and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 4th year Medical Student who hopes to become a General Practitioner. I love music, and have tried to learn every musical instrument I could lay my hands on. I love musical theatre and singing at the top of my lungs in the car. I love reading, baking and climbing trees. I also love sports, and will give almost anything a try. I lived in the North of England for a year and fell in love with Europe! I was able to go on many trips, the highlight being a road trip through the Alps during summer. I have a younger sister who is 15 months my junior. We enjoy having ridiculous laughing fits and going on road trips.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and has a plan and purpose for me here on this Earth. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and He came to this Earth, and made it possible for me to be able to return and live with my Heavenly Father in Heaven. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints because this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know this, because I prayed to my Heavenly Father, and was able to receive an answer to that prayer. The Church teaches me the thing I need to know to be able to get the most out of my life, and strengthen me to be able live a happy and fulfilled life. I have read the Book of Mormon, and know of it's truth. I try my best to live by the teachings in the Book of Mormon and know that I am happiest when I am doing what my Heavenly Father would have me do.

How I live my faith

I love being a part of a strong Church community. I have lived in many different areas, and have always been warmly welcomed by the members. In the past, I have served as a representative for Young Adults (aged 18-30), which involved organising activities and supporting those who lived in my area. I also recently worked with young women aged 12-17, organising weekly evening activities, and teaching them on Sundays. I have also been able to help organise larger weekend conventions for youth and act as a counsellor on a Church week long activity over summer, known as EFY (Especially For Youth). One of the things the Church has encourage me to do it to keep a journal. Although I have not always kept this up, I am now onto my 18th notebook, and enjoy being able to read over and review my own writing! I have many friends who are currently serving as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I love reading their letters and writing back. They always give me little challenges, like reading my scriptures daily, that help me. I love studying the Book of Mormon and attending Institute, a week night class for Young Adults to learn more about the Bible and other scripture.
