Hi I'm McKaila

I love spending time with my family and playing sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The best moments I have are the times with my family. I dont know what I would do without them. I love the competition when playing sports. I love to try new things. I play the Ukulele, well at least try to. Never been so great at instruments but I love music!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church upon this earth. I love being apart of this church because I have recognized so many blessings that come from it and come from obeying the Lords commandments. I am happier when I do what the lord asks of us. I love going to church every Sunday. I love reading from the scriptures, I learn more and more every time I do. I love being Mormon. I am a Mormon because I want to partake of all the blessings my Heavenly Father has to offer me. I know He loves me and wants what is best.

How I live my faith

I believe the way I show how I live my faith comes through day to day things. How I show it comes little by little, sharing, serving, or teaching someone what I believe in. I live my faith by making the decisions my Heavenly Father would want me to make. I strive to obey the commandments of God. I strive to do my best in every day. I try not to waste my time, because I know this time here on earth is our time to prepare to meet God. Even though it may seem like we have so much to accomplish in this life. We always have our Heavenly Father to help us along. I live my faith by having faith in my savior and Heavenly Father that they will lead me along each day. I have faith that they will help me to do whatever is necessary. I pray to Heavenly Father for guidance, for strength, for comfort, for gratitude. And I trust that the Lord is listening and will answer any questions I may have. That is how I live my faith.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Our Heavenly Fathers' happiness comes from [his] childrens' happiness. We are [his] children. He wants us to be happy. Heavenly Father created our bodies for us to gain experience and knowledge here on this earth. To prepare us to be worthy to stand in Gods kingdom again. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints believes that part of our happiness comes from taking care of our bodies. Many of us can see that we are happy when we are healthy. The lord has made certain commandments for us to follow. These specific commandments that pertain to our bodies are called "The Word of Wisdom." The Lord commands us to not partake of any substance that is harmful to the body and causes addictions such as, tobacco, drugs, alcohol, coffee, or unwholesome foods. From partaking of these substances it will affect not only our physical appearance but our inward outlook. We feel happy when we are healthy. We can do more, and think clearer when our bodies are clean from harmful substances. And not only will we feel better when obeying the Word of Wisdom, we will receive many other blessings from the lord. The Lord will give us these commandments because he knows what is only best for us. He gives us the scriptures that has these commandments to lead us along. By taking care of our bodies we make our "tabernacles" and acceptable house for our spirits. The Lord calls our body a 'tabernacle' or a 'temple' because they are sacred and a gift from God Show more Show less
