Hi I'm Loretta

I am a college athlete. I am a full-time missionary. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a diehard basketballer. I live and breathe the game. After playing in college for a year I turned in my mission papers and was called to share the gospel in Detroit, Michigan. I recently became an Aunt and my niece is my pride and joy. I love my family and learning about my ancestors. Family history work is THE BEST. Going boating is my all-time favorite activity. I love being on a lake and cruising around with the wind in my hair! I love spending time with the fam, playing games (I dominate at Risk), listening to good music, going to concerts, and living the young adult life! I can't wait until one day I can have a family of my own, but for right now I love being on my own and having these amazing uplifting experiences that only being obedient to this gospel can bring!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to this gospel and have raised me and my siblings as Latter Day Saints since birth. I've gotten the stereotypical "Utah Mormon" label placed on me several times, but this gospel means everything to me. For a lot of my youth maybe it's true, I was one of those girls that just went through the motions of the church...but after being on my own for a bit I have gained an unshakeable testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior and through the Atonement I can be perfected in him. This gospel is a very demanding one, and requires a lot...but I know for certain that every little thing we do is worth it. It's not just something I do on Sundays, it's something that is apart of me and who I am. I know that I'm a daughter of God and he has such an amazing plan for me! I've struggled growing up with picking a major and a career and even a boyfriend! But I know that my Heavenly Father is a lot better at planning out my life than I am, and having faith in His teachings will bring blessings into my life that I can't even fathom, and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

While at college my freshman year, I was called to teach as a Sunday School teacher in my ward in Virginia. Although stressful and intimidating for a shy, quiet freshman like myself...it was such a joy to learn and share my knowledge of this gospel with my peers. Upon recieving my mission call and returning back to Utah I helped coach my Wards youth women's basketball team and even balled it up in a few church ball games myself. I am currently a full time Sister Missionary (those super cute girls with the name tags...yea, you know who we are!) and am loving every second of it. It's hard at times to stay true to the things you know when it's not what all "the cool kids" are doing, but I know that by following Christ's example, we will be happier than we can ever imagine! I try to do the hard demanding things of life everyday with a smile on my face, because the knowledge that I have of this gospel makes every crazy little trial SO much more enjoyable!
