Hi I'm Annie

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been called to the Suva, Fiji Mission.

About Me

I am the second out of 4 kids, one sister and two brothers. I love hiking and camping. The past few summers i have been working at Brighton LDS Girls Camp, one of my favorite places in the world. I enjoy reading in my spare time and playing the guitar and violin.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon. Not because i grew up in the church, not because my family is; I am a Mormon because I know that what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. My conversion didnt happen all at once, and i haven witnessed any miraculous events like some. I became converted one day at a time, through the everyday promptings and witnesses i have received. There have been a few amazing testimony builders in my life, and most of them have to do with learning to trust. My most recent lesson centers around my mission call. I have always wanted to go on a mission because of the amazing stories and experiences i have heard. Last summer i finally began to lay down some plans. I signed up for fall and spring classes at my dream university, with the thought that i would turn in my papers in july after i had turned 21. Throughout the summer i kept getting the feeling that i was doing something wrong with my life but i couldnt figure out what! Then two weeks before the semester started, i finally figured it out; i was being told that i needed to stay at home. This was really hard for me to get my head around because going to this university was something i had been planning on for years and everything was in place for me to get in another year of school, but after lots of prayers, late night discussions and tears i decided to trust in my Heavenly Father. So i moved back home, found a job and started saving up some money. None of it made any sense until the October General Conference. When President Monson announced the age changed everything suddenly clicked. I had been prompted to stay home so i could serve my mission when and where i was supposed to. I will be serving in the Suva, Fiji mission beginning on March 27th 2013. I dont yet know what why i have been called to serve in Fiji, but i do know without a doubt that it is where i am supposed to be. Christ lives. God loves and guides us. This is the true and restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to serve as a Program Director at Brighton LDS Girls Camp. I have worked at the camp in past years, but this summer helped me grow more than anything else i can think of. Living with new best friends in the wonders of gods creation and helping young women nurture their testimonies has strengthened my own testimony and taught me to trust in my Heavenly Father no matter what. Even the smallest promptings or questions can have a huge impact. Keeping the Holy Ghost in my life has shown me how much we are loved by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
