Hi I'm Matt

I'm from Montana. I love writing fiction. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mormon who's currently serving a mission in England. Before my mission, much of my free time was spent writing, specifically fiction. I fell in love with writing when I was sixteen and I've been writing novels ever since. I actually finished one a few years back, though it's a very, very rough draft. I also spend a lot of time reading, again fiction, but it doesn't really matter what type. I just love learning new things and experiencing new things through another person's perspective. My time spent with my friends and family makes up some of the happiest times in my life. Nothing makes me happier than being surrounded by the people I love. I love my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and everything that it brings into my life. I couldn't have been luckier to have been born into my family and as a result this church. I'm currently serving in the England Birmingham mission and I couldn't love my experiences here any more. It's amazing!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and I never really realized how important it was until I started going to high school. There, I faced some of the hardest challenges in my life to date. It was when I finally turned to the Lord and asked for his help, that I realized how much he'd been helping me all along. He never left my side, not even in those moments when I believed myself to be completely and utterly alone. Christ was always by my side and He knew each and every pain and trial I went through, because he did too. He suffered all these same things for me, so that I might have the opportunity to be clean. When I finally learned to look to my Savior for help, that was when my life turned around. I found myself happier than I'd ever been before, and not much has changed in this regard since then. By relying on Christ's infinite Atonement and following his teachings, my life has been changed exponentially. I honestly can't say where I would be without this gospel, because it has made all the difference. It has taught me that everything can be looked at in a positive light, because the Lord is always on your side. I know that this Church is true, but most of all, I know that my Redeemer lives. He loves me. He died for me. He suffered incomprehensible pain for me, and because of this, I have the opportunity to be sinless before Him. I know that as I follow His commandments and example that I can be united with those I love for all eternity, and nothing could mean more to me.

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm serving a mission in Birmingham, England. As a missionary, I go out every day and help others learn more about Jesus Christ and His teachings. We speak with many people from different nations and backgrounds, but it's all the same to me when I have the opportunity to share the things I know about Jesus Christ and the way He's blessed my life. I love being a missionary because it allows me to helps others enjoy the happiness that I've experienced in my own life from being a Mormon. It's an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Matt
We do not only help Mormons. It has been commanded of us to love our fellow man and to serve them. I am personally so happy whenever I take the opportunity to help those around me. It has never mattered to me whether or not someone is Mormon if they need my help. I went to a high school where I was one of the few Mormons in my class and I loved every minute I spent with those who weren't of my faith. It is so important to help those in need and it never matters what faith they belong to. We need to be willing to help and love everyone. Show more Show less
