Hi I'm Julia

I'm a student and future English teacher. I love literature from Potter to Poe. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student and book-lover studying English teaching. To talk about books all day and get paid for it would be an absolute dream, tied only perhaps by having a personal library with a sliding ladder and a secret passage hidden in the bookshelves. I want to travel the world--to see everything from the Eiffel Tower to the Pyramids, from the Great Wall of China to Easter Island. I believe in happy endings.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members of the church and I have been raised in the gospel, but that is not the reason I've stayed in the church. I know that it is true. The teachings of Jesus Christ and his prophets have guided me in my life and led me to make the decisions I have. I've seen how the gospel blesses my family. Because we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, my parents have a strong marriage and my family is united and happy.

How I live my faith

Going to church every Sunday has always been part of my family life. Now that I'm in college, I have the opportunity to teach Sunday school for the children in our ward. I team-teach a class of ten six-year-olds with another girl my age. We absolutely love our kids. We love teaching them and watching them begin to understand what faith means, who the prophets really are, and learn to love the gospel as much as we do.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We do believe the Bible to be the word of God. The Bible tells of God's people and prophets throughout the ages, as well as Jesus Christ's ministry here on Earth. I personally have gotten as much spiritual guidance from the Bible as from the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
