Hi I'm Natalie Grigg

I'm a Musician. I'm a Missionary! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and am studying opera at BYU-Idaho! I'm not quite sure if I even really like listening to opera...but man it's fun to sing :) I think my favorite thing to do is to just jam with people and make music. I also play anything with strings. Piano, guitar, violin, you name it and I've at least tried to play it. I'm from the wonderful land of Oregon, and have two parents, six siblings, two brother-in-laws, and three little nieces and nephews. My mom stays at home, and my dad runs a hospital. I went to four high schools and pretended to be sporty by playing basketball, tennis, and golf. It didn't really work, but brownie points for trying right?! I'm also a missionary for the Mormon church in Richmond Virginia. Giving up school, money, time, and a normal life for 18 months is a sacrifice, but it's totally worth it. It's worth it because I know this church is true, and I want to share that with everybody that I meet.

Why I am a Mormon

It's all based on Jesus Christ. I know that he paid the price for my sins, and because of him I can live with God again someday. Following Jesus Christ, and finding peace and happiness is my main motivation for being Mormon. I know what you're thinking...that's the motivation for most Christians, so why the Mormon church and not another denomination? The Bible and the Book of Mormon both say that baptism is a vital part of being saved. I want my baptism to be binding on Earth and in Heaven, and so baptism by proper priesthood authority really is the only way. So logically it makes sense, because the Mormon church HAS that priesthood authority. It's not just a matter of the mind, but of the heart. Through asking in prayer, the Holy Ghost has testified to my heart that this is the one and only true church on the earth. I cannot deny it, and desire for everyone to know this for themselves too.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the church my entire life, BUT, there was a point where I really had to know for myself that it was the true church, and I wasn't just doing it for anyone else. So many people think that once you're baptized you're "saved". Easy as that. I know that there is so much more effort that has to go into it on my part in order to truly be saved. I live my faith by reading the scriptures, going to church, repenting (or changing) daily, and really trying to live the way that Christ lived and turn outward in love and compassion for others. As I serve others I start to love them. In turn, it helps me understand how much God loves me. This gospel makes me happy, gives me a purpose, inspires me to be better, and tells me where I come from and how to return home. I'm a Mormon because I know it, I live it, and I love it :)
