Hi I'm Josie

I'm from Hawaii. I love to learn. I sing, cook, eat, play tennis, laugh, read, and teach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a representative of Jesus Christ to preach his everlasting gospel in Cebu, Philippines. Before serving, I was college student majoring in neuroscience. I love science and the surety that it provides, but I also love the human connection and vulnerability that we all have.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I gain true joy from this church. I've become a better person as I live the teachings of Christ. Every time that I begin to live the gospel more fully, when I try it out, I see blessings in my life of increased happiness and peace. I'm becoming who I want to become. As I've tried it, I've had witnesses that it is true and good and right. I know that my Father in Heaven loves me and wants the best for me. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and because of him, I can repent of my sins completely. I know that the Book of Mormon is God's word, given to us today by his prophet Joseph Smith. I know these things because I've felt it. That's a hard thing for me to describe, but I add my testimony to many others that these things are true. And I know that anyone can find out for themselves, simply by praying and asking for knowledge, and then trying it out.

How I live my faith

I help people in my church with their personal and family history. Specifically, I help members learn to index or transcribe records like censuses or ship records. These records are then put online to help others find their own ancestors. I sing in my ward choir. I also serve two women in my ward and act as their personal support system.
