Hi I'm Richard Tyler Sant

I'm a communications student, tutor, lab assistant, and a lover of life

About Me

I attend school at Brigham Young University-Idaho, another branch of BYU in Provo, Utah. I love living life, learning more about success and happiness, and I try to be more like Jesus Christ everyday. I study, work, and play around a lot, but my life is always centered on the teachings of Christ and I enjoy studying what He did in Jerusalem as well as in other places He visited. Truly, being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made my life much more enjoyable and more progressive than it ever could have been if I was on my own. In the Church is found the fullness of Christ's teachings and gospel, and I believe the Book of Mormon to contain the most precious and sacred truths that make my life so much happier and more enriching. I'm an aspiring teacher of religion so I can spread this message to the youth and hopefully make their lives as good as it can get with Christ. I also aspire to be a husband and father someday in the future, and I know I can be with my family forever because of the true principles and ordinances of the gospel taught in the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

It's quite simple, really: I know this is the only true church on Earth. I've read the Book of Mormon, I've prayed about it, and I know that it is a true, holy book prepared by God through His servants the prophets for us today. I love my Heavenly Father, and through trials and deep experiences, I've discovered that He loves me. I know the Atonement that Jesus Christ completed is real and it works in my life everyday. I struggle and fail continually, but through His Atonement, I know that I can get picked up and learn from my mistakes and keep moving in a better direction. I follow His gospel today because I know it can bring me and my future family true joy. I know I've felt sad and down in life, but through the gospel, I have found happiness and comfort. I know the Church is true, and I know that Jesus lives and that He will visit the Earth again. I look forward to that time, but until then, I will try my best to bring people unto Him and teach them that they can be forgiven through faith and repentance. I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because I believe the teachings I have received in this Church contain all of the truths God wants to give us because He loves us. His desire is that we attain immortality and eternal life with our families-happiness and joy that lasts forever-and live forever in a heaven that He has prepared for us when we depart this life. That brings me so much comfort, and that is why I remain a fully active member of this glorious Church.

How I live my faith

I graduated high school in 2013, but while I was still a young student, I attended a religious class called seminary, and it was a huge part of building my faith in Jesus Christ. In seminary, young students attend every other day to learn from scriptures in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I was blessed to be a member of my school's seminary student council where I helped plan activities with other leaders for fellow students to participate in. I had the blessing to serve in the California bay area as a full-time volunteer missionary where I taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who was willing to listen. I spent two years there trying to convince people that there is indeed a better way to live. That way is through Jesus Christ and His gospel, the fullness of which is found in the teachings of modern day prophets spoken today, as well as in the teachings of ancient prophets found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Currently, while at school in Idaho, I have the opportunity to serve in a small young adult congregation to lead the teaching in Sunday school that happens every week. I train teachers, organize the classes that are taught during church each Sunday, and I work with local leaders to make sure the curriculum is continually teaching the truths of the gospel. It is very invigorating and rewarding to oversee such learning, and I love teaching and learning so it helps me prepare for future careers in teaching that I aspire to.
