Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a daughter and a sister. I'm a gymnast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am daughter to loving parents and the youngest of four children. I am a gymnast and have been for 11 years now. I am currently a freshman in college and also preparing for a mission to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always gone to this church because I was born to parents that were already members of the church but I had to gain a testimony of it's truth just like they did. I have always believed that the Book of Mormon is the word of God but when I was about 10 years old or so, I read the Book of Mormon from front to back and applied the promise in Moroni 10:3-5 about praying to see if the words are the words of God. When I applied that promise I knew without a shadow of a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church on the earth today with the fulness of Heavenly Father's gospel. I continue to follow His teachings because I can't in good conscience not follow Him after receiving an answer to my prayers asking if the Book of Mormon is true and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is His true church.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher in the women's organization. I teach once a month and love it! I feel like I learn more from it than the other women do. I try to live my life in a way that God would want me to by following His commandments and showing love for His children.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormon's are most definitely Christians. The church's teachings are centered around are Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our church's full name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Book of Mormon also has added onto the title, "Another Testament of Jesus Christ". Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Members attending Sunday meetings or services are encouraged to wear their "Sunday Best", meaning to wear modest skirts or dresses for the women, suits and ties for the men and the children typically dress us for Sunday services as well. Members of the church celebrate Christmas and Easter because of the spiritually significance of those two days in Christian history. Members also celebrate national holidays for the area where they live. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

All Mormons are not required to serve a mission. The decision to serve a mission is between the individual and the Lord. The children and youth in our church are taught about the importance of missionary work as we grow up and we are encouraged to serve if we are worthy and able (physically, emotionally, and spiritually). We consider it a privilege to serve a mission because on a mission we are teaching those of God's children that do not know about His church yet. Show more Show less
