Hi I'm Phil

I was born in California to great parents. I went to the local schools. I have one sister 7 years older than me.

About Me

When I was a youth I loved to play football and my team won the city championship. I also swam on the high school swiming team. Good memories. I graduated from college many years ago. I have two children living. We lost one of our boys at birth. One of my hobbies was umpiring baseball. I liked making the game fun and fare for everyone. I was an active boy scout as a youth, and as an adult have been a leader many years. At this time my wife and I are enjoying our hobby of ballroom dancing, and like to participate in competitions. I love to sing and have sung in barber shop quartets as a lead tenor off and on for years. I also sung in my college choir and presently sing in my church choir. I love spending time with our sons and grand children. They give direction and purpose to life. One of the high points of my week is attending church and feeling of the spirit there. I enjoy my career as a piano technician and only wish I had found it sooner. My greatest pleasure in my lifte is sharing it with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduce to the Church throug the example of friends and acquaintences at my high school. There were three of them in particular. First there was this girl I liked a lot. One day I was at her home they had this family get together called family home evening. They invited me to stay, and I had a wonderful time. The food, the lesson, the games were all great. Second there was our student body president. He set a great example which hightened my interest in the Church a little more. Finally, I met the girt that ended up to be my wife of almost 50 years. She set high standards. She would not marry me until I joined the Church. Not only joined but really believed. I took the missionary lessons from two great sister missionaries. Everything they taught just made sence. I was baptized and I felt like I was coming home. Before these special people came into my life, I felt that I was different from the rest of the world. After joing the Church I found a group of people very much like me. I was at home. There is no question in my mind that the Gospel was restored on the earth by a living prophet, Joseph Smith. I have read the Book of Mormon more than once and know that is the work of God and a second witness to the Bible. I have seen how the Gospel has had a positive influence on our two son and their children. It is the Lords Church on the earth today. It is the plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I have been active in my church for more than 50 years, and it have given me opportunities for growth that I could not have gotten otherwise. I have had opportunites to supervise major activites, such as, picnics for more that a thousand people, major choir performances, major play productions, and church sports. I have also worked with the single men and women of our church. I have been active in Little League as an umpire, head umpire, coach/manager, and as league president. Working with the Scouting program has been a wonderful experience not for what it has done for me but for what it has done for the boys. I have watched as they discover leadershop qualities within themselves and thus being prepared to take their place as adult leaders when their time comes.
