Hi I'm Kaitlyn Jones

I was born in Canada and grew up in Missouri. I'm the youngest of six. I am ballroom dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent graduate from Brigham Young University - Idaho. I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development. I am working at an Arthur Murray Studio teaching Ballroom Dance. I believe dance is a way to share your testimony. Dancing is how I came to know God lives. Every time I am moving to music I rediscover the gift of having a body and I know God loves me. I dance to share this knowledge with others.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I am "mormon"? Because this is true. I have lived my life without the truth. I went years without praying, reading the scriptures, or doing anything really but thinking of myself and a select few people. I thought I was happy but I wasn't really. At that point in my life I struggled from anxiety, held on to the hard childhood and the knowledge that my father was sick and could leave this world any time. I told myself I was happy but if I'd ben honest I would have said I was miserable. Finally I began living the principles that are taught in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (which is the message we as disciples of Jesus Christ share has been completely brought back to the Earth). I began to live by faith, I repented and changed my heart, I began remembering and living the covenant I made at baptism, I began to then feel the Holy Spirit present in my life. It was then I began to discover hope. So why am I a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints? Because Jesus Christ lives. He called Joseph Smith to be a prophet, a simple farm boy, a tool in the hands of a loving Savior. Jesus Christ truly did bring back all the truths because there were pieces lost. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have one purpose, to help us return home and experience true joy. They work as they always have throughout the Bible. Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet who acts as an instrument in Jesus's hand so that our Savior may lead us home. This is all I need to know. I'm not perfect and thanks to this restored gospel I know that's ok. I know there's hope for each of us. Its because of this hope and because as I knelt on my knees after reading the Book of Mormon hand in hand with the Bible I came to the knowledge through the spirit that together they provide us with two witnesses of Jesus Christ and I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ I know these things to be true and challenge you to find it out too.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in every moment of every day. The world around us seems to be in complete chaos but I hold firmly to the knowledge that our Father's plan is perfect. Living the faith is simple. God gives us commandments not to limit us but to liberate us, knowing this I strive to live them to their fullest and I see the blessings come daily from this. We all face challenges in life; whether it be caused by a mistake we made, the actions of someone else, or if there seems to be no reason for the struggle, I know God is there and He knows you. I often find myself falling to my knees conversing out loud to our Father seeking His help and guidance. He always answers. The answers come in many ways; through the people around me, something find as I study the holy scriptures, or even sometimes just from a calming feeling (Galations 5:22-23). As I seek out God I don't have to look far, by simply attending church on Sundays and partaking of the sacrament I feel of His love. By serving those around me. By trying to see myself as He does I gain patience for my mistakes and courage to repent daily changing for the better always. The biggest way I live my faith is simply by loving my Savior and holding strong to the desire that I want to live with my Father again and I am willing to follow whatever He asks of me because though it may seem hard I know it will always take me closer to God because of the sacrifice of our Brother, Jesus Christ, as He suffered and paid the price for EVERYTHING. The message we as members share has already been paid for. It brings NOTHING but joy and happiness and love into our lives. There's only one way to know if what I've said is true, test it out. Live the faith just for a short time and as you do involving prayer and seeking knowledge from God. I promise you that if you begin truly living this faith and pray you will NEVER want to stop living it because its the ONLY way to true joy. (Moroni 10:3-5)

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Kaitlyn Jones
Faith in Christ can influence us in our relationships and marriages because we as Latter-Day Saints are striving to live a life worthy of joining our Heavenly Father once again. Because of this we want to be in relationships that are uplifting. Also by having faith in Christ we know our worth, and we love others and ourselves just as Christ and Heavenly Father do. Because of this we are given assistance through the Holy Spirit to know when a relationship is right for us, all we have to do is diligently ask in prayer if it is in accordance to Heavenly Father's plan.
