Hi I'm Madyson Perkes

I grew up in Hooper, Utah. I attend Utah State University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in a small farming town in Utah my entire life. I absolutely love the people and the nature that surrounds me. I'm currently attending Utah State University, right now my major is Business Administration.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the Mormon faith my entire life. It wasn't until my sophmore year in high school that I decided I needed to decide if I truly believed this gospel was true. So I read the Book of Mormon and then humbly knelt down in prayer. An incredible feeling overcame me and I came to know for myself this gospel is true. Since then many experiences have added to my testimony. However, I know that just like a garden, my testimony needs to be constantly tended and weeded in order for it to grow and produce the sweet fruit. I have always strived to follow the teachings of this gospel not only because I know it to be true, but because each commandment, when fully followed, only brings me happiness and peace. I know that my Savior lived and died for me individually. I know that only through the Atonement can my sins be truly forgiven. I know that if I continue to follow each commandment that one day I can enter into heaven to live with my family and heavenly parents once more. I know that through sincere prayer every concern and every question we have will be answered. I know, with all my heart, that this gospel is the truest form of knowledge we have upon this earth.

How I live my faith

Throughout my daily life I try to live my faith by being kind and serving whenever possible. In high school I had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer at Primary Children's Ogden Rehab center. Volunteering taught me so much and I came to truly love those who I volunteered with and the patients. Our stake also had a family history project in which I was able to participate in. Right now I am the Visiting Teaching Supervisor for my ward. This means I make sure the wonderful ladies of my ward are taking time to go and visit one another throughout each month. I've been able to participate in so many wonderful callings and events in my life. However, it's not the callings or opportunities that have brought me so much joy in my life, it's trying to live by my faith every day.
