Hi I'm Jacob

Im a fanatic about basketball, I ride motorcycles for fun, and Im a Mormon

About Me

I love life! I was born and raised in the church. I have ridden dirt bikes since I was 4 years old. If I had the chance I would ride a dirt bike until my arms fell off. Now I have grown to be a 6'7" athlete that loves basketball. I have been offered a few scholorships to play college basketball, but decided to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints first.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and luckily, have always had the gospel in my life. I have always tried to live the church standards because they bring joy to me. After I grew up I didn't have much interest in the church. There was a time when I didn't think too much about it and just went on with life. When I was 18 years old I was working for a construction company in utah. I had worked a long day and ended up falling asleep at the wheel. I went off the side of the freeway and crashed into a metal pylon. It ended up totaling the car, but miraculously I got out nearly unscathed. That accident was the most humbling experience I have ever had in my life. After I got out of the hospital, I got down on my knees and talked with our Heavenly Father. I thanked him for giving me a second chance at life. I asked for his help, and pleaded to be forgiven of all the mistakes that I had made. The warm feeling, that only the holy spirit can provide, comforted me and changed my heart. Since that day I have continually tried to repair the damages I had done to others and myself. Through the process of repentance I have grown to love life. I have also gained the strength necessary to face the challenges that are in my path. Sometimes I fall, but I have the knowledge, and faith to pick myself up and keep going. Being a Mormon has brought hope in my life. Having Faith in our Savior, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, has forever changed me. Through Jesus Christ we can all change and better ourselfs.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in California, speaking spanish. As a missionary, I have the opportunity to study the scriptures daily, and apply what i learn on a regular basis. We go out and offer service to whomever may need it, and when the occasion arrises, we get to teach the gospel. I live my faith by following the standards God has given me, and by helping others develop faith in Christ. Not only does this bless my life, but it blesses the lives of all those around me.
