Hi I'm Dianne

I'm a parent, former school board member, and an organist. I love to solve for X. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother and a grandmother. I have a passion for education, both my own learning and that of my children. My degree is in statistics. I have been serving on the school board. I also play the organ. And I like to be fit through hiking, spin class, strength training and more.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a family who belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I can clearly remember when those beliefs firmly became my own. When I was about 14, missionaries from my church were sharing the story of Joseph Smith with a friend of mine. As they spoke, I felt the Holy Spirit--like a warmth spreading through my body--confirming the truthfulness of that story. As I studied the Book of Mormon, I noticed the many references to and testimonies of Jesus Christ. I felt that same Holy Spirit witness to me that this book was of God. I also welcome guidance from living prophets today. When I hear them speak, I again feel the Holy Spirit witness what they are saying is true. I know when I try to keep the commandments of God, I am spared heartache and can experience joy.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday I teach young children about the gospel of Jesus Christ through music and other activities. I also help with cub scouts. Each month a friend and I visit with other ladies in our congregation to leave a spiritual thought, see how they are doing, and find out if we can help in any way. My goal is to reflect the love of God to all who cross my path. I will soon be leaving to serve a mission with my husband for three years overseeing other missionaries.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

To me, everything around me testifies of God--the stars, this amazing world, even the existence of humankind. As I read the Bible and other scriptures, I am touched by the testimonies of God found there as well. I also see His hand in my life personally on a regular basis. At dinner each night my family shares the ways we've seen God's hand that day. It may be something as simple as finding lost keys or running into someone who needs my help or whose help I need.
