Hi I'm Brynnley Roth,

and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in a military family, mostly living overseas in Japan and Germany. I've been studying at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I love to learn, and I especially love to teach. That is what I am studying in school. I enjoy a fun (and occasionally competitive) game of basketball and practically any other sport, but I also enjoy curling up on the couch and reading a good book. I often am found on long weekends at a friend's apartment talking or planning a get together, and I love to make new friends. I value my family very highly, as I am a true believer that family is everything. They mean the world to me and I cherish the memories I have with them and look forward to spending more and more time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I know it's true! I have read the Book of Mormon and taken Moroni's challenge in Moroni 10: . I have asked if it is true, and the Spirit has confirmed to me that it is true. Because the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith was a true and inspired prophet. I have also prayed to know of that truth, and once again, I have felt a peacful feeling assuring me taht it really is true! The gospel message is one of sweet, redeeming love-- and it truly breings peace to my soul. There are times in my life that I have lived in accord with the standards of the church, and those are the times that I have been most at peace and have been the happiest. Of course, trials and tribulation still come, but I am able to face it with hope and with a positive attitude. Living the standards of the gospel has not always been easy--there have been times where it has been extrememly difficult for me! But, despite the opposition I have faced, I know that when I live up to Christ's standards, I am happy. When I attend my church meetings and pray and read the scriptures, I feel a peacful assurance that what I am doing is right. I know that Christ lives. I know that I am a child of God, as are you! You and I both have a Father who is extremely mindful of each of us and loves us very much. He wants us to be happy, and has provided us with a way to live a happy life on earth and to return home to him. I know that the restored goespel is on the earth today, and I feel blessed to know of its truthfulness!

How I live my faith

Living my faith is something that is simple. I've actually never thought much about HOW to live my faith--because I think that people just DO! As we emulate the kind of people we want to become, we truly live our faith. I want to become more and more like the Savior, Jesus Christ. He set the perfect example for ALL of us--and the more Christ-like I can be, the happier I am and the more fulfilling my life is. By doing simple things like serving and lending a listening ear to those who need help, I can become more like my Savior and truly live what I believe. I think often times we get caught up on how we can live our faith--how am I showing others that I really believe what I believe? By doing it! It's as simple as that. All we have to do is really be what we believe. We won't be perfect, but we have the Savior there to help us and to guide us. As we do things as Jesus Christ would, we truly live the way He would have us live--and become true disciples of Christ.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Brynnley Roth,
I once was promised by a church leader that I would feel a feeling of peace and assurance if I said a sincere prayer, asking God if he loved me. I did just that, just to see if I would feel that peaceful feeling. As I prayed and pleaded for an answer, I felt an overwhelming warm feeling. It felt like I was being wrapped in a warm blanket, and I knew at that moment that my Father did love me, and that he was mindful of me. It was so cool to have that confirmation of his love and even of his grand existence! I have said this prayer a few other times, when I have felt a need to remember that God exists and that he loves me. It has helped me get through many trials in my life. Show more Show less
