Hi I'm Eve

I grew up in California, was converted at age 11, was in a foster home in high school, teach cooking classes and I'm LDS

About Me

I am a mother of 4 children. My youngest begins his mission to Australia in 5 days and my 3 older children are daughters and all are married. I teach community cooking and nutrition classes at WIC in my city. I love to ride my bicycle, garden, cook and do family research. I also love to spend time with my family and my dog, Peak-a-Boo. My father will be moving in with my husband and I when my son goes on his mission so I will be caring for my dad who is 79 years old. I have had numerous health problems but have overcome a lot of them and just plug away and try to be as healthy as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with a close connection to my 3 cousins, all girls, ages 10-14 years older than me. When they were visiting their annual spring break area, they would get together with the same family every year for many years. When my cousins were in their teens and went to this annual retreat with this other family, one of this family's sons was preparing to serve a mission and his preparation impressed my cousins. 2 of my cousins started investigating the church and would occasionally take me to church with them. My older brother would also accompany us. One by one we would join the church. I joined at age 11, and 2 of my 3 cousins and both of my older brothers joined, 5 out of 6 of us. So, one young man preparing to serve a mission changed an entire generation in my family! Now as a mother to a young man preparing to serve the people in Brisbane, Australia, on a mission I have come full circle: I was once a young child being taught by wonderful young Mormon missionaries and now am the mother of one of those wonderful young Mormon missionaries. I now have a forever family and I want to share it with everyone. I felt familiar with this faith as a young child before I was ever baptized . I feel it in the deepest part of my soul.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher in the nursery at church with the youngest children ages 18 months to 4 years old. I love the little ones! I also am a Indexer for family records. I read public records and input data into a form which is then searchable for everyone. I am also a visiting teacher to an elderly lady, and a working mother. I visit them and make sure they are doing ok. I read my scriptures nearly every day, I pray several times each day, I am fortunate enough to live close to the temple and attend every Tuesday evening with my husband, and I attend church once per week and go to Sacrament Meeting where I partake of bread and water and re-commit myself to the covenants, or promises, I made with Father in Heaven when I was baptized on September 18 1976.

Are Mormons Christians?

Eve
Yes I am first and foremost a Christian! I worship my Father in Heaven through Jesus Christ. I devote myself and my time to Him. I honor Him with every fiber of my being. His name is stamped on me forever more. I belong to the Church of Latter-Day-Saints and I love it! Show more Show less
