About Me

I am the oldest in a family of 8. I am attending college as a music major with an emphasis in jazz performance. I play the trombone and have done so for several years. I listen to a lot of music as part of that. My favorite musicians are the new Orleans musician Trombone Shorty and The Beatles. When I'm not doing music, I am chilling with my friends and family. One of my favorite hobbies is reading comic books with my younger brothers, my favorite to read is Superman. I also love movies. my favorite movies are Toy Story and Star Wars, but Toy Story will always hold a special place in my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the happiness it brings into my life. I feel so much peace from knowing that I have a father in heaven that cares about me and has a plan to bring peace and joy into my life. every time I read The Book of Mormon or go to church, I feel the spirit testify that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures and writing in a journal everyday. i am an active member of my church and I fulfill responsibilities including hometeaching. hometeaching is an important part of our church because it helps us all keep up with each other and how everyone is doing. I am currently serving as a missionary in Lansing Michigan, trying to help people in anyway I can, including spreading knowledge of our Savior.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Taylor Campbell
No, we don't worship Joseph Smith. We only worship God and his son Jesus Christ. We respect Joseph Smith for what he did, which is that God brought back his church through Joseph Smith. Everything we believe is centered on God and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Taylor Campbell
The church was organized in Fayette, New York on April 6th 1830. the process started 10 years earlier, however, when Joseph Smith decided to pray and ask God which church was correct. God The Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and answered he must join none of the churches at that time, and that through Joseph Smith, God was going to restore his church upon the earth. What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Taylor Campbell
One blessing is that we can learn God's laws. When we know God's laws, we know the direction we need to take; the way back to him. God also answers prayers from the scriptures. in my life, as I have been searching for direction, after praying I have come across verses in my study of the scriptures that answer my prayers. In short, the scriptures bring understanding. As we thoroughly study the scriptures that God has given us, we can learn what we need to live righteously. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Taylor Campbell
The Book of Mormon was written by Prophets who lived on the ancient American continent. The records of these Prophets were compiled by a Prophet of the Lord named Mormon. Mormon compiled the history of his people starting at 600 B.C. and ending around 400 A.D.. He then handed the record to his son Moroni, who added a few words of his own and then hid the record in a hill. Later on, this same Moroni led Joseph Smith to the record and Joseph translated the record into English so that we could read it. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Taylor Campbell
An LDS mission is a voluntary service. our members are on missions because they choose to be. we pay our own way out and we are not paid for our service. this is a way that many, including myself, try to show our love for God. Show more Show less
